A bit more about me
I live in the French Riviera with my partner Federico and we are the guardians/parents/slaves of Néline and Praline.
Néline is a five-year-old Norwegian Forest cat, her coat color is black amber blotched tabby and white. She loves to eat and never lets a crumb of food. She is the one that inspired our logo and the creation of The Little Carnivore.
Praline is a three-year-old Norwegian Forest cat, her color is black amber smoke. She is a mischievous little creature but also very cuddly.
My education
2019, ACACED
2020, Canine and Feline Nutrition Certificate at the Southern Illinois University
2022 - Present, Master of Science in Animal Nutrition at the University of Glasgow
I keep educating myself with reference books such as the Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats, Small Animal Clinical Nutrition, Canine and Feline Nutrition.
Why The Little Carnivore?
Everything started in 2017 when, after wishing for a cat since I could remember, I finally could have my own flat and got Néline.
I then opened my Instagram account @neline_the_lioness to share our adventures. A few months after she arrived, I started feeding her a raw diet and talking about it with my community.
During her transition to a raw diet, I was frustrated because of the lack of information about cats: all the resources I could find were mostly about dogs.
So, I created The Little Carnivore in 2019 to share my experience with raw feeding for cats but also my knowledge about breeds, genetics, feline well-being and ethics.
Progressively, I educated myself about nutrition with, among others, my certificate at Southern Illinois University so I could keep creating more quality content.
Finally, following numerous requests I become a professional in 2021 by providing services in feline nutrition. This allows me to keep creating free quality content while helping as many people as possible to feed a raw diet to their cats.
Disclaimer
I'm not a vet. If your cat is sick or injured, take it to a vet!
I have a scientific education and I do my best to link the sources (scientific studies) of my articles.
Even if here you'll find some quality content, as for everything on the internet, don't blindly believe everything I say! Making your own research is always very important: anyone can be wrong, even with the best intentions.
Let’s talk about what the FEDIAF is and its nutritional guidelines.
